About Canada Wood College
 CANADA WOOD COLLEGE is a vocational school specializing in wood frame construction. We provide international caliber training for building tradesmen, offering courses in carpentry skills, wood frame technology, and residential & light commercial building principles. Canada Wood College now operates in the Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai Urban Management College and Sichuan Deyang Institute of Architectural Technology.
The goal of Canada Wood College is to provide building and designer tradesmen, who may have minimal exposure to wood frame construction, with the skills and knowledge to become ‘lead-hand' framers, job site trainers and wood frame designer.
Students can complete the Canada Wood College program within one year of study that alternates with their regular employment. There are four terms offered throughout the year, with each term lasting from three to five weeks. Students who successfully complete all four terms will be awarded a Certificate of Wood Frame Construction.
Modern wood frame construction has many advantages to offer builders, homeowners and society in general. While ancient wood structures are beautiful and durable, wood frame technology has made great advances in the last fifty years resulting in a construction system that is energy efficient, quick to assemble and environmentally sustainable.
