Vancouver Forest by Beijing Capital Group Vancouver Forest in Beijing is a high-end villa project developed by Beijing Capital Group. The project has made use of wood trusses for roofing masonry villas in Phase II and III, with137 and 121 villas respectively. Wood House in the Forest – Days in Capital Group, an article by Mr. Li Bing, the then Project Manager Assistant of Vancouver Forest, illustrating benefits of the wood truss roofing system including durability, fast construction, energy efficiency and others. Vancouver Forest in Beijing has attracted wide interest in its North American style villas. Several nearby villa projects, including One Thousand Villas, Oriental Provence, Poly Villa and McAllen Courtyard Villa have followed or adopted North American wood frame construction, highlighting the superior performance of the wood truss roof system and wood frame construction.
Tongji University Project

The most recent project was completed at Tongji University in Shanghai in early April, 2007. This project is an example of a China-specific design option that will be widely applicable in many markets around the country. Proven to be cost competitive, yet reliable and fast, this model allows developers or municipal governments to make the most of their renovation budgets.
Xu Hui District Project
The first wood truss roof renovation demonstration project in Shanghai's Xu Hui District was completed in September, 2006. The project successfully led to acknowledgement of the wood truss system as an alternative to the light steel system currently being used in Shanghai, leading the Shanghai Municipal Government to write on their website: “Shanghai to widely promote wood truss roof renovation systems for future roofing renovation projects”.

Qingdao Project A second roof renovation project was finished in Qingdao at the end of January, 2007. This demonstration project was the first phase of renovation on a site including 18 buildings. The Canadian Wood Truss Roof System offers even more benefits in a coastal climate like Qingdao’s, where steel is prone to rust and requires frequent maintenance. In addition, speed of assembly was increased because the wood trusses were pre-manufactured at an off-site facility, resulting in an average roof construction time of less than 10 days, compared with more than six weeks usually required for the light steel system.
